Several weeks ago the School of Music hosted Valery Khalilov, Russian composer, military officer, and conductor. Through music we transcended language, cultural, and political barriers. His visit changed our lives.

On Christmas Day, 2016, he along with 82 other souls were killed in a plane crash. We were heartbroken by this tragedy. On January 20, the Hodgson Wind Ensemble performed Khalilov’s March Bodrii as a tribute.
